I do, although I like reading about it far more than I ever liked being tested on it. I'm the kind of person who watches a video about black holes at midnight and then can't sleep. My first proper contact with it was in grade four, in a subject called Nature and Society. We planted bean seeds in wet cotton wool and measured them every morning, and mine was the only one in the class that went mouldy, which I took quite personally. Real experiments came later and were few and far between. Our secondary school had one chemistry lab and one working set of equipment, so the teacher did the demonstration while forty of us watched from a safe distance. The day she dropped a bit of sodium into water and it fizzed and popped, we actually applauded. Should everyone learn some science? Definitely. You don't need to balance equations for a living, but a basic grasp of how evidence works stops you falling for every miracle cure your aunt forwards to the family group chat.
