Sports programmes

I do, but I'm what you'd call a seasonal fan. I couldn't tell you who's top of the league in any given week, yet whenever the national football team plays, I'm glued to the screen like everyone else in the country. I also have a soft spot for badminton, since it's the one sport I can actually play. Live matches are a different story. I've only been to a stadium once, at My Dinh, and although the atmosphere was electric, I couldn't see much from row forty and missed the only goal while buying water. Most of the time I'd rather watch at a street-side café with a big screen, where you get the noise and the replays as well. When I was small, the World Cup was a family event. My father would wake me up at two in the morning, my mother would complain and then make instant noodles for everyone, and I'd fall asleep by half-time. One day I'd love to watch the Olympics in person, ideally the badminton finals. I'd happily sit in row forty for that.
